Dermaplaning is a simple, safe, non-invasive treatment which exfoliates the epidermis. By using a sterile surgical scalpel held at a 45-degree angle and a delicate touch, the provider simply abrades the surface of the skin using light strokes. This removes several layers of keratinized/dead skin cells on the outmost layer of the epidermis (stratum corneum) as well as the Vellus hair (fluffy blonde/peach fuzz) leaving skin smooth, supple and vibrant.

Although it has been around for many years it as recently grown in popularity as it is a quick procedure with few to no adverse effects.
Dermaplane can be a stand-alone treatment – perfect before an event to give you bright, glowing skin – or prior to other skincare treatments (facial peels or skin-needling) to achieve even better results.
This is a great treatment to offer to patients who are pregnant or nursing who want a deep exfoliation, but are not allowed to use peeling agents on their skin because of the risk that the chemicals will be absorbed into the blood stream.
